about us

Welcome to Team 5036, the Robo Devils! We are a passionate group of high school students from Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate Institute in Toronto, dedicated to exploring the exciting world of robotics and STEM. Our team is based at 145 Guildwood Parkway in the vibrant community of Scarborough Village. Our mission is to inspire and nurture the next generation of innovators and leaders. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can develop their technical skills, creativity, and teamwork. Collaboration, innovation, community, inclusivity, and excellence are at the heart of everything we do. By working together, thinking outside the box, and making a positive impact on our community, we aim to foster a love for learning and a commitment to excellence.

THE VISION

Building a robot is not our only goal. On 5036, we value spreading the knowledge of STEM and programming among the members of our team because as the world develops, STEM education will be vital! In our community, we spend our time showcasing our robot to introduce STEM to younger generations. Team 5036 believes that any goal is possible and we work hard to “Make it Happen”.

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a global program that brings together high school students, mentors, and sponsors to engage in the exciting world of robotics and engineering. Founded in 1992 by inventor Dean Kamen, FRC aims to inspire and motivate young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on experience.

Guidance and Support from Our MentorS

Our mentors are the backbone of Team 5036, providing invaluable guidance, support, and expertise to help our team excel in every aspect. From engineering to programming, their dedication ensures we are always learning and growing. Our mentors guide us through the entire process, from brainstorming and designing to building and competing. They provide technical training and career advice, helping us become not just better engineers but also better individuals.
