We are FRC Team 5036 The Robo Devils from Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Ontario. Community engagement is at the heart of what we do. We are proud to be active members of the Scarborough Village community, dedicating our time to mentoring younger students, hosting workshops, and participating in local events. Our goal is to inspire and empower others while building strong connections and making a positive impact in our community.
What Is FIRST ?
FIRST is an international program for youth that recognizes the importance of science and technology and aims to promote interest in STEM fields. It operates four programs for youth in kindergarten through grade 12; FIRST LEGO League Jr, FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition. These programs prepare the youth of all ages for what is ahead of them and opens life-changing opportunities by allowing them to work side by side with likeminded individuals, scientists and engineers.
Sponsorships
Despite robotics being very rewarding, it is an expensive extracurricular. Building and designing a robot can cost anywhere from $2000 to $4000. This does not include the cost of tools and travel costs. These expenses are usually an excessive amount for a school to handle by itself, which is why we need your support!
